In reference to art I have to say life without it is not enough. Without art running alongside, life is simply not enough. And I suppose without life, art is not enough. Well…not possible.  A certain kind of back and forth, a greek chorus, a call and response between the two seems somehow necessary. For that reason I make images and narratives that have to do with my life, that vivify my personal neuroses and recall my dreams. This visual journaling or documentation maintains a rather loose correspondence with truth, more closely aligned with theatre, with the mask rather than revelation. Ultimately though I am hoping for something. A kind of recognition, an increasing ease. A glowing in the dark. An ‘Aha’ moment. A ‘haha’ moment.
